StarCraft 2 is an amazing game with incredible depth. Not so much 
that you sink if playing casually but enough that it seems you will always be learning something new. This is what keeps it exciting and always fresh and fun to play. The further in you dig, the more detail the developers have put into ways to develop strategy and win against your opponents.
This point cannot be stressed enough. Just like real battlefield stories, the game has programmed into it numerous deep complexities, each of which can serve as the tipping point for a strategy to win a battle.
