  • Sanitize Everything

It is awkward the way life operates. You think you have the details under control and then suddenly something hits you from out of nowhere. That something that hits you is oftentimes a cold or flu virus. Of course you can try to stay away from large groups with constricted air flow – but what happens when you have to get on an airplane?
    Flying and The Flu?

The reason they no longer allow smoking on flights is because the air is recirculated. Now there is no smoke but unfortunately there are germs and viruses. If you want to protect yourself in the air or even in any other restricted air flow environment then you should read this article. The following advice is from Dr. Mark Gendreau. Dr. Gendreau is from the Lahey Clinic in Massachusetts.

The first of his advice is put your mucous membranes on full alert by keeping them wet and moist. This is accomplished by first avoiding dehydration by drinking a lot of water. Your protective membranes do not protect you at 100% without moisture. Next to drinking water it is good to use a nasal spray especially a nasal spray with saline. The saline nasal spray helps the protective membrane to work at maximum capacity. Using spray like Flonase that contains fluticasone propionate is also a good alternate. The Fluticasone Propionate nasal sprays are considered great products and still moisturize the membrane like a saline nasal spray.

    Sanitize Everything?

It is also good to keep your hands from randomly touching surfaces and to make certain you keep your hands from becoming contaminated and then touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. It is also good to regularly sanitize surfaces around you as well as using a sanitizer like Purell.

It is also good to keep the air above your head blowing down and thus keeping germs from entering the area around you. The concept is the same as the air blowers at the door of restaurants. The air blower keeps out insects. In the same way the air above your head can help keep germs from other entering your personal space.

  • Mold Causes And Symptoms

    0

Mold. There are some words that mean nothing. Others that bring happiness. But the word mold is one word that makes the average Realtor’s heart stop. The reason is, that mold is one thing that can make a a great real estate listing turn into a nightmare. It is not because mold is the “end all” of bad things. But it is because many Buyers believe that mold is the “end all”.

Buyers are afraid of the unknown and when it comes to “mold” most people do not know. The fact is that the health effects of mold can be very serious. But it is also a fact that mold is everywhere around us and that most mold problems are not as serious as to cause adverse affects in those exposed. I do not want to downplay the risk. Of course, there are some people that with a slight exposure will get sick. But for most people, simply seeing mold will not harm them.

What most people need to know is that that small amounts of mold in their homes simply needs to be fixed. Of course the minute I say that then someone who is sensitive will try to clean mold in their homes and then say I told them to do it. But that is not the point. The point is, if you find mold in your home. You need to take action. If you believe you have any sensitivity or are at all experiencing any mold symptoms then you need to remove yourself from exposure and call a professional. There is no shame in calling a professional. That is why there are professionals. To handle situations we should not be handling ourselves.

One thing to remember before killing the mold and removing the damage is that you need to identify and fix the cause of the mold. Mold is normally caused by water of some sort. Look around the area of the mold damage and identify where water might be originating. If you cannot determine the source. You need a professional. Cleaning mold without repairing the problem is not a solution. You need to fix the source of the problem.

For assistance in these matters consult your local Health Department.

  • Health Packed Lunch And Children

    0

Your child might be the typical picky eater, and when he already goes to school, you are bound to pack him a lunch which, in some instances, becomes untouched. Before worry sets in, get a grip on yourself and read on.

Obesity, even in children, has become a major social concern and unhealthy advertisements such as the seemingly high-caloric ‘packaged food invasion’ worsen the problem.

It is good that you have decided to pack your kid’s lunch and it takes a lot of cleverness on your part to find tasty and nutritious foods that your child won’t be able to resist.

Simple Steps To Follow In Packing Your Kid’s Lunch

Here are some simple steps for you to adopt when you pack your kid’s lunch before sending him off to school:

    • Get him a hardy lunch box – Choose a lunch box that can hold food and other extras like utensils, napkins, money, medications and some other things he might need.
    • Pack him a healthy snack – Include food items such as crackers and cheese, a fruit cup, yogurt, and others that you know your child will love to eat. Better yet, you can ask your child what he wants for a snack and if his choice has nutritional value, then go ahead and pack it for him.
    • Add in some essential protein into the main meal – You can include a tuna or chicken sandwich, a bean burrito, an egg roll, or even the previous night’s dinner. Pack him a different meal each day so he won’t get bored with his lunch.
    • Put in the frozen juice box with the foodstuffs – The juice box will keep the food items cold and it will thaw just in time for lunch.

As a parent, you always want to give the best things for your child, and healthy, nutritious foods top the list. With the alarming rise in obesity cases, you would not want your child to become obese so you find it well and good to pack him a lunch yourself. So go ahead and pack a lunch box prepared with lots of parental love!
